Oops! I just realized we’ve had this post saved as an unpublished draft all this time–better late than never, I suppose.
On the weekend of 4/12–4/14, our Scouts attended the annual Spring Camporee at Beaumont. The theme this year was “Anime,” but despite this, everyone had a blast! We were delighted to see some new Scouts who were transitioning from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. One of our patrols, “The Alchemists,“ won second place in the skit competition out of all the patrols in the Pathfinder District, and their point total for all of their activities came close to the highest possible score of 1200 points!
Unfortunately, our campground got hit by a fierce bomb cyclone on Saturday night. It felt like we were transported out to the middle of the sea in a storm. Our dining fly poles were bent 90 degrees by the wind alone! Some of our brave and determined scouts persevered and, without complaining, went outside to clean up the destruction–even though it was 3:00 AM! (Thanks, guys!) Overall, our Scouts had a great time and were able to efficiently overcome the obstacles that came in their way. Nice job everyone!
