Troop 344 goes on a Riding Adventure at Beaumont Scout Ranch on May 7-8
On our most recent adventure Troop 344 went to Beaumont for a campout, but this one came with a twist; horseback riding! Early in the morning we split into two groups and in order walked to the horse area. Here we had a brief orientation and were assigned to our horses based on riding experience. Then we were able to ride the horses in a large fenced ring. While some people struggled with this as horses started to bite wood and munch on grass nonstop, we all were able to switch directions and weave through poles successfully. After this we had lunch, and we were able to do patrol cooking this time! Unfortunately because of impending thunderstorms our fun was cut short and we had to leave late Saturday night, but it was a campout to remember for sure.
