On Saturday May 3, 2025, seven Scouts and a Scout leader from Troop 344 along with an instructor and a range safety officer went to Beaumont Scout Reserve for shotgun shooting. We started off inside learning about the parts and functions of the shotguns. We also learned about gun laws and Wildlife protection laws. When we finished, we went to the clay pigeons shotgun range and started shooting. After an hour of shooting, we went to wash our hands and eat lunch. After lunch, it started raining very hard and didn’t stop for the rest of the day. After a few more hours of shooting, two Scouts left. Five of the seven Scouts earned their merit badge. After shooting, we cleaned the range of spent cartridges and trash. We learned how to clean the guns and then cleaned two guns: one was a double barrel shotgun and the other was a pump shotgun. The day was cold and rainy yet it was a very good time.
