(Story by Henry W)
Troop 344 attended the Camporee at Beaumont Scout Reservation over the weekend of October 10-12. The theme of the camporee was the Wild Wild West.
The Troop arrived at Ladue Middle School on Friday afternoon, packed the trailer, went to Beaumont Scout reserve and set up camp. There were a total of 20 Scouts and 7 visiting Weebelos.
On Saturday, hot breakfast was prepared and then we went to our camporee activities such as fire making, knot tying and trivia. We went back to the campsite, made lunch, hung out and put on costumes for the costume competition and the skit competition. In the afternoon, there were more camporee activities and many scouts worked on ranks. Everyone ate dinner and went to the campfire.
On Sunday morning there was a lot of dew, so everything was wet. The troop packed up, ate breakfast, attended the closing ceremony and drove to Ladue Middle School.
