(Story by Ben)
On the 25th to the 26th of October 2025, Troop 344 set off on our backpacking trip throughout Meramec State Park. After our arrival to the LMS, we drove down to the park, which took about an hour and a half. Once we got to the park, we set off, but not before taking a photo. We hiked for 5 hours, including a 45 minute stop to refill our water. When we got to our campsite, we took a short break and then started setting up everything we needed, which included the tents, bear bags, and more. We ate dinner and then fell asleep (or tried to). The next day, though less hiking, was rough for some people. Since it rained, a lot of the rocks were slippery which made the 2.5 miles left of our trip very tricky to hike through. All in all though, it was a fun trip and definitely worth going on.
