On Monday, November 24, Troop 344 celebrated its 90th anniversary along with its fall Court of Honor held at the Ladue Middle School library from 7:00-8:30pm. There were approximately 38 Scouts and 50 parents and adult leaders in attendance. There were speeches by former Scoutmasters Hal B., Michael F., Brad H. and current Scoutmaster Doug K. The best story was one when a Scoutmaster arranged for a fighter jet to fly by and do aerial acrobatics over the lake at S bar F Scout Ranch in the 1980’s when the troop was camped next to the lake.
The Court of Honor was a good one, with may Scouts earning ranks and merit badges. First, Scouts gave an update on the outings and activities we had over the past few months, then ranks and merit badges were awarded. The number of Scouts earning their ranks: Scout (5), Tenderfoot (2), Second Class (2), First Class (2), Star (0) and Life (5). Also, Brandon B. earned ALL of the merit badges (139) as a Scout.
